2009 - Planning

At some point, the discussion will begin. So, here is a calendar:

I expect that Joseph and I will be there the 23rd to the 28th! However, Joseph might talk me into a few extra days. I think he would prefer longer and more fish! I also plan on beginning to let him try fly casting a bit next year - he probably will not be tall enough but he has surprised me every year! I believe that younger attendees is an overall benefit to the camp atmosphere - I do especially love spending time with Joseph.

LPRFT Chronicle

Please add to the account of this annual gathering. Someone else would be better to recount its origins - my initiation was only 25 years ago. I can insert my history as the comments progress to the early 80's. Who's first?

Great time - tough fishin' (photo links below)

I thought it was wonderful this year! Joseph wanted to stay longer and we did catch a few fish. Ed led the breakfast crew, and Mike held his spot as head cast iron chef! We had an adventure around 117 to 87a and charted constellations (thank you, Steve). Quinlisk even blessed Joseph with a kite!

Mel made it again - you'd better be back next year, too. There even was a train-ride excursion.

The river started to settle mid-day Saturday. A fish just about jumped into Steve Loos' waders - witnessed by Quinlisk, Kris, Kent and me. There were only 5 fishes in the Saturday fish-fry this year, but the youngest generation showed signs of carrying the rod well!

We'll wait to see how the land-grab will turn out, but I am certain that we are all looking forward to gathering back in about 350 days.
