To the los Piños Wilderness Area campground…
Going North into Antonito, CO, the rail road crosses 285 (watch for the 285/84 split in Española; stay on 285) just before the "T" at Antonito’s Main Street (17 merges into 285 and Antonito is to the right). Just before rail road tracks, take a left on 443A, the paved road – right across the highway is the Narrow Gauge train depot. Travel exactly 5 miles on paved road. Take a right on gravel road (if you make it into the village of Ortiz you passed the turnoff towards the campground). Follow the gravel road along into the los Piños river valley exactly 5 miles to a cattle guard where the campground begins – los Piños Wilderness Area. Look for a stone picnic table on the left which is near the gravel road and vehicles are parked in close proximity – the campsite is about halfway through the campground.
